Lots of planter boxes
One of the things we’re looking to do with the property is have a garden. At our last place, we had a handful of garden beds and planters that Oceana grew various plants in. We’re looking to do the same here but with more planters all over that have walkways in between them. For now, we’re going to start in the south side yard to the inside of the driveway. We currently have a queen crepe myrtle, avocado, and starfruit trees planted in this area. We’ll end up incorporating them into the planter boxes. For right now we laid out the dimensions of the boxes and as I get time, I’ll get to building and digging them out.

Planting seeds
Oceana also planted a whole bunch of seed starters and relocated our planters to the back side of the house. It’s starting to make this area look nice. Oceana’s tower garden has been growing like crazy. The plants in this thing are doing really well. We may end up doing more hydroponics because of how well stuff is growing in there.
Got the planters organized and some plants transplanted The tower garden is doing great
That’s one sexy table
I was able to get the Pipiomaka table finished and photographed last week. One thing that I really like with this shop is that I can set up backdrops and create a photo studio in there. I haven’t had a shop that had enough natural light or that was big enough to take good pictures in. I got the backdrop set up and got some really nice pictures of it. I actually really surprised myself with how nice the pictures and the table turned out. Now time to do some marketing so that I can find this table a new home.
Another bee swarm trap
I went ahead and set up another bee swarm trap right next to the cable box that has the honey bees in it currently. I’m being entirely too optimistic but I’m hoping that they’ll run out of space in the cable box and just start expanding into the bee box. If not, at some point I’ll end up cutting them out and putting them in the bee box. However, I’d like to avoid that so hopefully they’ll just happily relocate.

Time to relax
This week we’ll be finally taking some time off and doing some campervanning. And sleeping. Lots of sleeping. We’ll be on a river so I’ll be taking the canoe out and doing a little fishing. But hopefully we can just relax a bit and get back on track. For me, this week was the first week that I started feeling halfway normal again. After next weeks relaxing, I’ll be ready to get back in the grind working on this house so that we can get it knocked out!
That’s all for this week. As always, thanks for following along our crazy journey!
Glad you both are getting a break! You certainly have earned it! Still thoroughly enjoying the journey. 😊
